FML Volume 1

FML is a cartoon about people who develop superpowers related to their difficult life experiences.

Volume 1 is an introduction to the world of FML and the main characters, including Priya who is about to go through with a forced marraige; Ruth, who lost her legs and developed psychic and psychokinetic powers (which still don’t help her make sense of the disability benefits system), James who developed healing powers that he uses in his work as a paramedic; Grace, whose mysterious past gave her power over the elements and Sophy who can create inter-racial multiples of herself after a childhood of racist and homophobic bullying.

There are a whole cast of supporting characters that you can see on the FML website and a selection of links and resources at the end of the book which will help you dig deeper into the topics that FML covers.

You can also get a preview of the book online, as FML is released weekly as a webcomic. This book covers the first year of cartoons, up until October 2014.
